Remember when I was asking for advise for this wing back chair that I used to hate?
I mean look at her... she is UGLY! However, this is the last time that you see her like that!
Well it's time for the big reveal...
Are you ready?....
What do ya think? I'd say absolutely fabulous!
And as you can see I finally went for the fabric with the cow texture, as black
would not probably match as well. I have to admit I followed the advise of the guru of interior
designers Eva from Rdeco! That woman is capable of solving interiors dilemmas with her eyes closed!
Now I guess you're all wondering if this project was made by me. Well... not exactly!
In the beginning it started out as one of my projects, so I read some excellent tutorials like this one to
guide me. So first I had to take her to a neighbor's garage because it was going to be the dirtiest and
most painful job ever! I started by pulling out the staples with the use of a screwdriver and needlenose
pliers. Man there were so many! And this is how far I went!
It took so many hours unstapling the old fabric that it drove me crazy and I was only half the way! Taking into account that I have a house, two kids, a husband and one dog waiting for me to feed / clean / take care of / them, the only spare time I had for this one was only 1-2 hours at night when kids were asleep.
I reconned that it would take me months to finish! So I decided to leave it to the hands of a pro.
And there you have a professional outcome.
I tried this rug that I had in my basement, but I think the white flokati looked better.
Next up is to get rid off this wall clock. Any suggestions on what to hang on this wall?
Silky wanted to be the first one to try out the new chair! :)
Another before and after shot side by side:
It only cost me 190 Euros (i.e. $370) with the fabric included and the transportation
from and back to my home.
So what do you think of my new-old cow wing back chair?
*Linking up with these link parties and this. Check them out for a ton of crafts and projects! *
Olga,
ReplyDeleteThat chair looks super cool.LOVE it!I don't blame you for getting a pro.Better to be done right.I re-did a chair but it was not like that chair.Mine was not as complicated.

ReplyDeleteOlga! It's amazing! I love the fabric! It goes well with the rest of the room too! Great job!

I never saw that comin! Excellent choice. The lines of the chair are so much more defined. Love it. As for the wall, might I suggest the B&W wood photo idea from Sarah???? I think they would look great near the chair since it would mimic the B&W of the chair.

ReplyDeleteWow - that's quite an amazing transformation! I love the fabric that you chose. I've been tempted to try my hand at reupholstering a chair, but haven't been brave enough yet.

Kalo Mena! Very hip chair. I love the stiped wall in the room behind it as well.

Holy Cow! (No pun intended) That is SUCH a dramatic change. Hubby and I have a matching set of two AWFUL UGLY wingbacks. They were found 3 years apart in 2 different garage sales and they are EXACTLY identical. I've often thought of having them upholstered, but I'm afraid of the cost. How did you get yours so cheap!? If you have a moment, I'd love for you to link up at Sweet Sharing Monday http://saynotsweetanne.com/2012/sweet-sharing-monday-3/ It'll be open till noon on Thurs!
