Wallpapers, textures and oak flooring give this small home a cozy and inviting feel.
Located in Sweden, it was built in the 40's but it has gone through a recent renovation
that's giving the apartment its modern looks. Ideal for a single person or even for a couple,
don't you think?

ReplyDeleteThe wallpaper in the living room is so soothing, whilst in the kitchen is more contemporary. What about the details in the bathroom, aren't they lovely? Oh by the way, I have the same faucet in my bathroom.

I do visit your lovely blog Maria!
DeleteHave a great day you too!
Deletei love love the little home! the bed is adorable

Hmmmm, I've been seeing lots of articles lately about small space apartments/living quarters and how to make the most of every square inch. My question is - how does one make up that bed? Does it pull away from the wall so you can get behind the other side to tuck in the sheets and smooth down the duvet? Also, I've got a serious issue with no privacy in that bedroom alcove. It's gorgeous and I think it would be wonderful if only there was some kind of closure between it and the living-room space! Even curtains would do; they could be put to the side during the day; and really, if you have company over, do you want them to be staring at your intimate bed-space all evening long? I sure would not! Guess I'm just a prudish American from the midwest though -- I think bedrooms should be P-R-I-V-A-T-E. Not in your face. But a wonderful use of the space available and beautifully decorated throughout.
ReplyDeleteWell I surely couldn't even sleep in such an alcove if I had visitors over. But I guess this kind of small spaces is for singles only who do NOT have friends stay over for the night! :)
DeleteYes, you are right. I turned 61 last August (eek!), and I do feel differently about my private spaces now than I did when I was 17 and had just moved out into a shared apartment with two other friends. But even back in the swinging early 1970's, all of our bedroom spaces had doors that we could shut! I still feel young at heart inside, but it's a fact that sometimes I forget what it was like to be a physically young age, and to live like I used to live! And let me tell you, I am SO happy I do not live like that anymore. That being said, the apartment you featured is a beautiful space. It makes the most of every square inch and is beautifully designed and decorated. The articles I've been reading are about apartments in New York City, particularly on Manhattan Island. I know I would be absolutely shocked by the cost of what I would consider an acceptable apartment in Brooklyn! Thanks for replying. And thanks for keeping your blog going. I absolutely love what you do, your images and commentary are always so inspiring to me.
ReplyDeleteJan you sure are young at heart and that shows! You're an amazing person with strong opinions that are so kindly expressed. You're also are an amazing commenter! Thank YOU for all your sweet encouraging words!
DeleteI love it!
DeleteLol!!!
